Prior to joining the 12Sports team, Washington was a four-year sports reporter and anchor at ABC10, KXTV, a sister station of TEGNA, in Sacramento. At ABC10, she also served as a host on ‘Toyota Sports Extra’, the network’s weekly highlight show.
There, she also helped launch “Sports Standout,” the weekly franchise that spotlights local prep stars. She also played in Super Bowl LIV in Miami, the run of the San Francisco 49ers, and the 2019 NBA Finals. A two-time Emmy Award winner, she became notable for her roundtable on Sacramento’s race relations with a nomination for a Northern California Area Emmy Awards.
She is from Phoenix and a graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications and Corona del Sol High School at Arizona State University. Washington began her career in Bakersfield, CA at KGET, the NBC affiliate. During her tenure at 17 News, as sports director, she covered everything from NFL Training Camps, Kern County high school sports and the NCAA Elite 8 in Los Angeles. She enjoys hiking, boxing, watching sports and diving into a good podcast.
